Gather in community July 1 – Canada Day


The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) Administration office, located at 1350 Aster Street in Pemberton, B.C., will be closed on Monday, July 1, 2024 for the statutory holiday. Looking for what’s going on for Canada Day? Here’s a list of events taking place around the region:

Britannia Mine Museum

The museum is hosting Canada Day Celebrations on Monday, July 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with live music, fun and games.

Gold Bridge

Canada Day festivities will include a parade at 11:30 a.m., a barbecue at the Gold Bridge Community School field, Canada Day cake and singing of ‘Oh Canada’.

Lillooet

Join the family fun at Downton Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. including local music by The Dwellers, Moonridge and Sofa King plus kids’ activities, farmers market, and food and beverage.

Pemberton

Celebrate community in Pemberton with the Spud Run at 8:30 a.m., Parade at 10:30 a.m., and family-friendly fun at the Community Barn including live music by Austin Ross, craft table hosted by the Pemberton and Multicultural Network, Lil'wat Nation crafts, kids’ activities, lawn games, food trucks and cupcakes.

Squamish

Head Downtown to experience Sk̲wx̲wú7mesh Squamish Together - live music, art, food and beverage, and craft from many community groups and cultures. In addition to entertainment, the event will include a kids’ zone, community meet-and-greets and a X̱ex̱e7énaḵ Creators Together Market.

Whistler

The Spo7ez Performance Team will commence the day, acknowledging the deep history and culture of the Squamish Nation and Lil’wat Nation and setting the tone for a day of celebration and community spirit. The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre will offer free admission for the entire day. Whistler’s Community Parade starts at noon and events and activities include community yoga, pancake breakfast, roving characters and a free concert at Whistler Olympic Plaza starting at 6:30 p.m. with opening DJ Foxy Moron and headliners Walk Off The Earth.
