Based on consultation with the British Columbia Wildfire Service, the SLRD has assessed that potential danger to life and health due to the Downton Lake wildfire has subsided to the degree that the current Evacuation Alert is no longer required in all areas.

Effective September 15, 2023 at 1100 hrs, the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District has rescinded the Evacuation Alert applying to the following areas:

• All SLRD Properties in the Gold Bridge area.
• All SLRD Properties in the Gun Lake area.
• All SLRD Properties in the Lajoie Lake (aka Little Gun Lake) area.
• All SLRD Properties in the Tyaughton Lake area.
• All SLRD Properties in the Gun Creek Road area.
• All SLRD Properties in the Bralorne area.
• Any other SLRD properties located within the boundary noted on the attached map.

Please note the South Chilcotin Mountains Park remains closed due to ongoing wildfire activity within the park boundary.
