The October 24, 2016 Information Note, “2016 Mount Currie Rock Fall and Local Instabilities" was prepared by engineering staff from the Coast Engineering Group and the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operation's research geomorphologist, after analysing photographs and data of September 2016 rockfall activity on Mount Currie. The note identifies concerns of potential instability along the Mount Currie Ridge and the subsequent potential impacts to Pemberton Valley residents, and recommends a further detailed analysis to determine the potential types and size of landslides that might occur, and to determine the actual risk to the public.
