Notification of enhancements to the Grizzly Bar Side Channel, Lower Bridge River

BC Hydro will begin construction in early March on improvements to the Grizzly Bar Side Channel, located in the Lower Bridge River.

The project will restore and enhance fish habitat by improving water flow and helping prevent fish from becoming stranded during changing river conditions. These improvements are intended to support healthier fish populations in the Bridge River system.

This work helps mitigate environmental impacts from the 2022 spring reservoir drawdown associated with the La Joie Dam Improvement Project.

The project is being completed by BC Hydro in consultation with regulators and in partnership with the St’át’imc Nation.
