National Indigenous Peoples Day – June 21, 2026

2026 marks the 30th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day, an annual opportunity to recognize and celebrate the traditions, cultures, knowledge and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples. Held on the summer solstice, June 21, this day marks a time of renewal, connection and celebration for many people.

The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) is found within the core traditional territories of the  Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), St'át'imc Nation and Líl'wat Nation. Here are some ways to engage in and celebrate Indigenous culture and traditions in the SLRD.

Lillooet
