Electoral Area C
In February, the SLRD Board adopted the Electoral Area C Noise Regulation Bylaw, to preserve the peaceful enjoyment of Area C by residents, visitors and farmers. Specifically, construction noise is prohibited before 7am and after 8pm between Monday and Saturday, or before 10am and after 4pm on Sundays and public holidays. Amplified music must cease by 11pm.
The bylaw is enforceable by a Bylaw Enforcement Officer of the Regional District, or an RCMP Officer.
The SLRD has recently hired a Bylaw Enforcement Officer who will operate under the new Bylaw Notice Enforcement Bylaw, with the power to issue tickets and fines for contraventions.
