Whistler Waldorf School (WWS) submitted a rezoning application for an approximately 5 acre portion of Crown Land immediately adjacent to the WedgeWoods neighbourhood in order to build a school facility. The Whistler Waldorf School has outgrown its current temporary facilities in Whistler and is ready to build a permanent home. The proposed location will serve families in both Whistler and Pemberton as currently the school is attended by children from both communities.

Regional Growth Strategy Minor Amendment
At the October 1st board meeting the Regional Growth Strategy (RGS) regarding the Whistler Waldorf School Society was reintroduced. Considering the Information Report dated October 1, 2014, RGS Minor versus Major Amendment Process which provided additional information regarding the RGS amendment process and additional information provided by the Whistler Waldorf School Society the amendment to the SLRD’s RGS was deemed to be “minor”.
Affected local governments were given notice of first reading of the RGS minor amendment bylaw, which is to be before the SLRD Board on November 24, 2014. First and second readings of the zoning and Official Community Plan amendment bylaws may be considered at the same meeting.
