Residents are advised that there will continue to be increased site presence by the consultants, the General Contractor and other project partners. Road and construction updates will be posted to this page on the SLRD website.
July 31, 2026
Construction operations at the Catiline Creek Debris Flow Mitigation Project at Lillooet Lake Estates site have been temporarily suspended as of July 23 2026 due to wildfire activity in the area, specifically the Two Twin Creek Wildfire (V30941).
- The SLRD issued an Evacuation Alert on July 23, 2026 for an area including Lillooet Lake Estates and the Catiline Creek Debris Flow Project site
- The SLRD issued an Evacuation Order on July 30, 2026 for an area including Lillooet Lake Estates and the Catiline Creek Debris Flow Project site
Work is not scheduled to resume until conditions are safe to do so. The project team is monitoring conditions and will provide updates as information becomes available.

General Construction Information
- Approved working hours are in place, and have been adjusted for the summer months. Work outside approved hours is subject to an authorization process.
- Work on Saturdays has been approved in principle, and will be reviewed on an ongoing basis with community representatives through the summer.
- Construction activity is not anticipated on long weekends or statutory holidays.
- Depending on site conditions, essential equipment may be operating and monitored 24/7 (for example: water pumps).
- Closures of some areas will be required. Closures will be reviewed with LLE representatives and communicated through community channels.
Site Safety
The mitigation project happening in your community is an active construction site. For your safety, and the safety of friends and family, please be aware of the following hazards:
- Heavy machinery operating throughout the day (excavators, loaders, rock trucks and other equipment in motion)
- Frequent rock truck traffic entering and exiting the site
- Increased industrial vehicle movement on LLE private roads and the In-SHUCK-ch Forest Service Road (FSR)
- Changing conditions, limited visibility and variable terrain in work zones
- Noise and dust related to ongoing construction activity
We ask all residents to:
- Remain alert.
- Follow posted signage and area closures.
- Stay clear of moving equipment.
- Keep out of construction areas at all times, including excavation areas.
- Keep clear of stationary equipment, pumps, hoses and parked vehicles.
- Keep out of silt containment area in the lake, at the mouth of the creek
Your help educating visitors and children about these construction hazards and important safety messages is greatly appreciated.
