Issued at 4:18 a.m. P.S.T.
Rain, at times heavy, is expected. An offshore low pressure centre and associated frontal system will move northeastward and approach the BC Coast this afternoon. Rain will begin in the Howe Sound region late this afternoon and become heavy at times tonight with upwards of 50 mm expected. The rain will continue into Thursday afternoon with the total rainfall amounts approaching 80 mm over a 24 hour period.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to pacificstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports to #BCStorm.
