Issued at 3:46 P.S.T.:
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring. A one-two punch of strong winds will affect the mouth of Howe Sound tonight and tomorrow morning. The first opportunity will be late this evening and overnight. As the warm front approaches this evening, the northerly wind will give way to sudden bursts of strong southeast winds of 70km/h with gusts to 90. The first punch is forecast to be mainly for southern sections near the mouth of the Sound. Early Thursday morning, the cold front will then pass over the region pushing the second punch of winds farther into the sound with strong south to southwest winds of 70 km/h with gusts to 90 km/h. The winds will ease by Thursday afternoon.

High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to pacificstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports to #BCStorm.
