In addition to the Regional District Board, the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) has a number of committees that provide advice and recommendations to the Regional District Board of Directors.

Standing Committees

Standing committees are appointed by the SLRD Board Chair under the Local Government Act and are comprised predominantly of SLRD Board Directors.

The SLRD has the following Standing Committees:
Committee of the Whole
Electoral Area Directors Committee
Pemberton Valley Utilities and Services Committee
Policy Development and Review Committee

* Northern Economic Development and Initiatives Committee (currently inactive)

* Emergency Management Organization Committee (currently inactive)

Select Committees

Select committees are appointed by the Regional District Board under the Local Government Act to consider and report back to the Regional District Board on specific issues. Members of the public or other non-SLRD Board Directors may be appointed to a Select committee in accordance with the SLRD Procedure Bylaw.

The SLRD has the following Select Committees:
Electoral Area B Agricultural Advisory Committee
Electoral Area C Agricultural Advisory Committee
Solid Waste and Resource Management Plan Update Public and Technical Advisory Committee
Electoral Area C Official Community Plan (OCP) Review Community Advisory Committee

External Organizations and Other Appointments

The Board may appoint Directors to the Boards, Committees and Working Groups of external organizations on which the Regional District has been granted a seat and such Directors shall represent the interests of the Regional District when sitting in that capacity.
