Directors Jen Ford and Vivian Birch-Jones return to positions for 2022
Pemberton, BC – The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) Board elected its Chair and Vice-Chair for the coming year at its meeting on November 24.
Resort Municipality of Whistler Director, Jen Ford, returns to the position of Chair.
“I am grateful to the Board for their confidence and ongoing commitment to the work of the regional district,” said Ford. “It is an honour to be re-elected by my colleagues, and a privilege to serve as Chair of the SLRD Board.”
Electoral Area B Director, Vivian Birch-Jones, returns to the position of Vice-Chair.
“I am pleased to continue in the role of Vice-Chair and to further the important work of the SLRD in our region,” said Birch-Jones.
Both positions were acclaimed.
The SLRD is governed by a 10-member board of directors consisting of four electoral area directors and six municipal directors (one director from the District of Lillooet, one director from the Village of Pemberton, two directors from the Resort Municipality of Whistler and two directors from the District of Squamish).
The positions of Chair and Vice-Chair are elected annually by the SLRD Board of Directors.

- Chris Pettingill, District of Squamish (acting as alternate for Director Stoner)
In addition to serving on the SLRD Board, Directors also serve on standing and select committees as well as on external boards, committees and commissions representing a broad range of issues. The full list of these appointments for the coming year is available on the SLRD website.
SLRD Board meetings are generally held in the SLRD boardroom at 1350 Aster Street in Pemberton on the fourth Wednesday of each month beginning at 9:00 a.m. (if convened virtually) and at 10:30 a.m. (if convened in person). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SLRD Board meetings are currently being held virtually, and are livestreamed on the SLRD website.
