Environment Canada issues Rainfall Warning for Howe Sound

District of Squamish, Electoral Area C, Electoral Area D, Resort Municipality of Whistler, Village of Pemberton

Issued at 4:55 a.m. PST, Wednesday, January 20

Heavy rain is expected. Rain will begin this evening becoming heavy at times on Thursday as an intense frontal system tracks across the B.C. coast. 50 to 70 mm of rainfall is expected by Thursday evening.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Landslides may occur in vulnerable areas such as steep slopes.
