Updated: Hwy 40 currently closed between Bralorne and Lillooet due to multiple avalanches

Highway 40 has been closed all morning, and remains closed in both directions from Bralorne to Gold Bridge (14.7 km) and from Bralorne to 95km west of the Junction with Highway 99 in Lillooet (25.9km) because of multiple Avalanches. Assessment in progress. No detour no alternate route available. (This information is current as of Fri Jan 22 at 11:42 am. Drive BC will provide their next update at 2:00pm)

A Travel Advisory is also in effect due to Freezing Rain from Gold Bridge to Mission Dam (56.4 km). Travellers are advised to exercise caution and consider alternate plans. (Updated Fri Jan 22 at 9:05 am PST.)

Conditions in the region (Hwy 99 from Kane Creek Bridge to Lillooet, Lillooet to Hat Creek Corner, Highway 97 from Loon Lake Rd to Clifton, Highway 12 from Lytton to Lillooet, and on Highway 40 from the Mission Dam Junction to Gold Bridge) are slippery with limited visibility due to fog.
