Britannia Beach Water System Hydrant Flushing

May 18 - 31, 2017

Corix will be performing annual hydrant maintenance intermittently over the next 2 weeks during regular operational hours

Flushing can improve water quality by reducing the sediment that comes from the inside of the pipes and will decrease the rate of bacterial growth (biofilm). Flushing can also improve taste, odour & colour.

You may experience some of the following:

  • Water pressure may be temporarily reduced.
  • Temporary discoloration of water.

If you experience discoloration of water, flush your tap until the water runs clear. The chlorine disinfection of the water has not been interrupted during this time, so the water is safe to drink.

If you have any questions or required additional information please contact the SLRD, Utilities & Environmental Services department at 604-894-6371.
