Overview

The SLRD is in receipt of a zoning amendment (rezoning) application for a 2.5ha portion of DL2247 on the west side of the Highway from WedgeWoods Estates. 

This application is to enable the future subdivision and development of four new lots. Three of these lots are proposed as market residential and will house a total of 12 dwelling units in the form of 6 duplex buildings. The fourth lot will house the common septic field and a backup common septic field. 

Additional community benefits are proposed, including financial contributions to affordable housing, development contributions to support future regional transit access (bus shelter and pedestrian underpass), as well as the donation of the remainder lands to the SLRD as park.

Current Status

SLRD Board provided third reading of the Zoning Amendment Bylaw associated with this proposal at the April 22, 2026, Board Meeting.

The applicant has 18 months to complete technical requirements prior to final adoption of the bylaw.
