Electoral Area B - Civic Address Signage Installation - Part 2 & 3

Electoral Area B

Part 2

Clear and visible civic address signage supports efficient property identification for emergency response, service delivery, and public safety.

Part 1 of the Electoral Area B Civic Address Sign Installation Project involved the installation of 166 reflective aluminum civic address signs on posts throughout the Yalakom Valley, Seton Portage, and Highway 12 areas.

Part 2 will complete the installation of civic address signs for properties with assigned civic addresses in Electoral Area B, including the Texas Creek, Highway 12, and Kelly Lake/Pear Lake Road areas. Approximately 142 remaining civic address signs will be installed as part of this phase. Installation services will be provided by qualified contractors procured in accordance with SLRD Purchasing Policy No. 34-2022, ensuring a fair, transparent, and competitive process.

Affected property owners will receive advance notification prior to installation. Project communications are anticipated to begin in June 2026, with sign installation scheduled for September 2026, subject to contractor availability and scheduling.

Part 3

The SLRD has established a region-wide civic addressing program supported through Community Works Funds (see report here), which will allow property owners to request civic address signs at no cost, subject to available funding, to improve address coverage and support emergency response.

Property owners can check their civic address using our interactive map, or apply for one by contacting planning@slrd.bc.ca.
