Pursuant to Section 466 of the Local Government Act this is to provide public notice that an electronic Public Hearing will be held regarding the following proposed bylaws:

  1. Squamish-Lillooet Regional District Electoral Area A Zoning Bylaw No. 670, 1999, Amendment Bylaw No. 1862-2024
  2. Squamish-Lillooet Regional District Upper Bridge River Valley Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 608, 1996, Amendment Bylaw No. 1863-2024

Purpose of Bylaw No. 1862-2024 and Bylaw No. 1863-2024
The bylaws are associated with an application to amend the zoning and OCP designation at 128 Lorne Street in Bralorne to permit expanded commercial operations on the parcel. The proposal includes conversion of the existing principal residence building into a lodge/tourist accommodation use with four guest rooms that can accommodate up to eight guests. In addition, there are eight serviced cabins proposed as well as a common facilities building that includes a caretaker suite. The applicant has also applied to be able to host events on the property under a commercial assembly use. The current zoning provides for bed and breakfast use, but no further commercial uses. The current land use designation under the OCP is Residential and Resource Management. 

The area covered by Bylaw No. 1862-2024 and Bylaw No. 1863-2024 is PID: 017-228-476, LOT B DISTRICT LOT 5485 LILLOOET DISTRICT PLAN KAP44796 EXCEPT PLAN KAP81908, as outlined on the map included in this notice:

Public Participation
A copy of the proposed bylaws and relevant background documents may be inspected at the Regional District office, 1350 Aster Street, Pemberton, BC, during office hours 8:00am to 4:00pm not including weekends and statutory holidays, or by reviewing an electronic copy on the project page. All persons who believe that their interest in the property is affected by the proposed bylaws shall be afforded a reasonable opportunity to present written submissions respecting matters contained in the bylaws.

Written submissions must be addressed to "SLRD Board of Directors," and include your name and community of residence. Until 4:00pm on July 30, 2024, written submissions will be received at the following:

Written submissions will also be accepted on July 30, 2024 between 4:00pm and the time when the motion to close the Public Hearing is made. During this timeframe, written comments must be submitted by email to: amackay@slrd.bc.ca
