UPDATE: Notice of Public Hearing for Electoral Area D - October 27, 2025 CANCELLED

This Public Hearing will be rescheduled to a later date. The new date will be posted to our website and Facebook page once confirmed.

Public Notice is hereby given in accordance with Section 466 of the Local Government Act that an electronic Public Hearing will be held regarding the following bylaws:

  • Squamish-Lillooet Regional District Electoral Area D Zoning Bylaw No. 1350-2016, Amendment Bylaw No. 1915-2025
  • Squamish-Lillooet Regional District Electoral Area D Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 1135-2013, Amendment Bylaw No. 1916-2025

Purpose of Bylaw No. 1915-2025 and 1916-2025

As a result of changes to the Agricultural Land Commission Act (ALCA) and Agricultural Land Reserve Use and General Regulation (ALR Use Regulation), the SLRD needs to update zoning bylaws to be in alignment with the Provincial regulatory framework. Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1915-2025 seeks to incorporate these necessary changes into the Electoral Area D Zoning Bylaw. The proposed changes reflect the approach implemented in Electoral Area C and are aligned with the Electoral Area D Official Community Plan (OCP) Bylaw and Squamish Valley Agriculture Plan. Policy changes under the Agriculture Designation of the Area D OCP Bylaw are also required to remove reference to outdated terms and processes related to residential uses in the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR). Additionally, OCP mapping changes are required to reflect new ALR boundaries in the Upper Squamish Valley.

Bylaw No. 1915-2025 and Bylaw No. 1916-2025 apply to the Electoral Area D Agriculture Zone and Electoral Area D OCP Agriculture Designation.
