An application to amend Land Use Contract (LUC) Bylaw No. 87, 1976 (McGillivray Falls) in order to facilitate a subdivision of the property has been received.  In order to subdivide the property it is necessary to remove that portion of DL 4363 (the proposed new lot) from the LUC and zone it under SLRD Zoning Bylaw No. 765, 2002.  An agent, DAW Holdings Ltd., acting with the authority of the property owner (McGillivray Falls Recreation Retreat Ltd.) has submitted the application.

At the October 27, 2014 SLRD Board meeting, draft Land Use Contract and Zoning Amendment Bylaws were presented to the Board.  Land Use Contract Amendment Bylaw No. 1359-2014 and Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1360-2014 received first reading and staff were directed to send out referrals to First Nations and Provincial agencies.

At the May 2014 meeting the SLRD Board directed staff to continue working on the application and to draft amendment bylaws for the Land Use Contract and Zoning Bylaw amendments.  SLRD staff decided to host a public information meeting to gather comments from the McGillivray Falls shareholders and residents.  More information on that meeting is outlined below.

Public Information Meeting

A public information meeting regarding the application was held on Saturday August 2, 2014 at 4 pm at the N'Quatqua Band Community Hall in D'Arcy, BC. 

A questionnaire was developed and made available at the meeting to gather comments from the public on the proposed application.  Anyone who was unable to attend the meeting can download the questionnaire HERE.  Once filled out it can be mailed, emailed, or faxed back to the SLRD office.
