Evacuation ORDER DOWNGRADED to ALERT– Area B, Pear Lake Wildfire (C40983)

Based on consultation with the BC Wildfire Service, the SLRD has assessed that potential danger to life and health due to the Pear Lake wildfire has subsided to the degree that the current Evacuation Order, issued pursuant to Section 95 (1) of the BC Emergency and Disaster Management Act, by the Squamish Lillooet Regional District on August 29, 2026 at 1700 hrs, is no longer required and is being downgraded to an Evacuation Alert.

The Evacuation Alert for Pear Lake Wildfire C40983 declared on August 31, 2026 at 1700 hrs remains, as outlined on the attached map. Effective September 3, 2026, at 1700, the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District has downgraded the Evacuation Order to an Evacuation Alert applying to the following properties:

Should conditions change, an Evacuation Order will be reinstated as necessary.
 

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

  • Please refer to the SLRD’s Returning Home after a Wildfire information and guide on our website. 
  • Safely return home and coordinate the safe return of your animals or livestock, if necessary.
  • If you have received emergency accommodations through an Emergency Support Services (ESS) provider, these accommodations are no longer offered once this Evacuation Order is rescinded. However, existing supports may extend beyond the date of the Evacuation Order rescindment. Please contact your ESS provider to confirm when your supports will end:

  • Impacted or concerned agriculture producers are asked to please contact the SLRD Agricultural Coordinator directly at 1-604-384-7329.
