Evacuation ORDER Downgraded to ALERT - Area B, Riley Creek Wildfire

Based on consultation with the British Columbia Wildfire Service, the SLRD has assessed that the potential danger to life and health due to the Riley Creek wildfire has subsided to the degree that the Evacuation Order, pursuant to Section 95 (1) of the BC Emergency and Disaster Management Act issued by the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District on August 9, 2026 at 1630 hrs in Electoral Area B, is no longer required. The Evacuation Order has now been rescinded and downgraded to an Evacuation Alert. 

The following affected Evacuation Order properties are now on EVACUATION ALERT in the Texas Creek area:

An Evacuation Order may need to be reissued for the properties in the Alert area. If that is deemed necessary, the Evacuation Order process will recommence. Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible before evacuation; however, you may receive limited notice due to rapidly changing conditions.

The updated Evacuation Alert area for properties in the Texas Creek vicinity remains, as per the attached map.


WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:
  •  Please refer to the SLRD’s returning home after a wildfire information and guide on our website. Safely return home and coordinate the safe return of your animals or livestock, if necessary.
  •  If you have received emergency accommodations through an Emergency Support Services (ESS) provider, these accommodations are no longer offered once this Evacuation Order is rescinded. However, existing supports may extend beyond the date of the Evacuation Order rescindment. Please contact your ESS provider to confirm when your supports will end:
