Pursuant to Section 95 (1) of the BC Emergency and Disaster Management Act, an EVACUATION ORDER issued by the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District due to immediate danger to public safety caused by the Riley Creek Wildfire has been expanded to include an additional property on Texas Creek Road in the Texas Creek area effective August 9, 2026 at 1630 hrs. Members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and other applicable agencies will be expediting this action.

The EVACUATION ORDER issued on August 7, 2026 for properties in the Texas Creek area remains in effect.

FOR YOUR SAFETY YOU MUST LEAVE THE AREA IMMEDIATELY - EVACUATE NORTH VIA TEXAS-CREEK ROAD TOWARDS LILLOOET

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

  • If this is not your primary residence, you should return to your primary residence, if you are able to do so.
  • Accommodation in the area is limited. Make arrangements to stay with family and friends, if possible. 
  • Gather your family and, if you have room, take a neighbour or someone needing transportation.
  • Take critical items (medicine, purse, wallet, and keys) only if they are immediately available. Take pets in pet kennels or on a leash.

Everyone is encouraged to register for Emergency Support Services online at: ess.gov.bc.ca.

If you are self-sufficient and don’t need assistance to meet your basic needs, you are NOT required to access these emergency support services.
