PARTIAL EVACUATION ORDER AND ALERT RESCINDED - Area A, Bonanza Creek Wildfire (K71082)

Issued: August 28, 2026 at 5 p.m.

Based on consultation with the British Columbia Wildfire Service, the SLRD has assessed that the potential danger to life and health due to the Bonanza Creek wildfire has subsided to the degree that parts of the Evacuation Order and Alert, issued pursuant to Section 95 (1) of the BC Emergency and Disaster Management Act, by the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District on July 22, 2026, and August 6, 2026 in Electoral Area A, are no longer required. 

  • Areas north of Carpenter Lake, including Marshall Lake and Tyaughton Lake
  • Areas north of Downton Lake including Gold Bridge, Gun Lake and Gun Creek Road and a portion of the South Chilcotin Mountains Provincial Park.
  • All SLRD properties as outlined in the map.

An Evacuation Alert may need to be reissued for the properties in the Rescind area. If that is deemed necessary, the Evacuation Alert process will recommence.
The updated Evacuation Alert and Evacuation Order areas for other properties in the Bonanza Creek wildfire vicinity remain, as per the attached map.
