Evacuation ORDER DOWNGRADED TO ALERT - Area B, Riley Creek Wildfire (K70659)

Based on recommendations from the BC Wildfire Service, the Evacuation Order that was issued by the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District on July 31, 2026, at 1900hrs, for the Texas Creek vicinity due to the Riley Creek Wildfire (K70659) has been downgraded and replaced by an Evacuation Alert. This updated Evacuation Alert has been issued to prepare you to evacuate your premises should it be found necessary. Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible before evacuation; however, you may receive limited notice due to rapidly changing conditions.

STAY PREPARED FOR AN EVACUATION - WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

• Preregister for Emergency Support Services online at: https://ess.gov.bc.ca/
• For questions call 1-844-815-6199 to access the SLRD’s 24/7 Public Information Line.
• Locate all family members and designate a meeting area outside of the evacuation area, should an Evacuation Order be called while separated.
• Pack essential items such as government-issued ID, medications, eyeglasses, valuable papers (e.g., insurance, credit, and mortgage information), immediate care needs for dependents and, if time and space permits, keepsakes for quick departure.
• Prepare to move people who may need additional time to evacuate, children and/or neighbours who would require assistance.
• Prepare to take pets with you and move livestock to a safe area (if possible).
• Impacted agricultural producers can contact the SLRD Agricultural Coordinator directly at 604-384-7329.
• Arrange transportation and accommodations for all your household members, if possible, and fill the gas tanks of personal vehicles.
• Wait for an Evacuation Order to be issued before evacuating.
